Back . . .

I'm back. Bruised and wiser. Sorry for the absence. Sorrier for the circumstances. I can't go into the details of my absence at this time. Too soon. Much of it still doesn't make any sense and includes: abduction, monkeys, a refrigerator, Parchisi, a former cast member of M.A.S.H., banana cream pie, crop circles, street sweepers, clog dancing, an accidental selfie, a unicycle, 2 zoos, feral cats, and a group of English tourists. And that's the short list.

There is still quite a bit of time I can't even account for, and I have developed a completely bewildering Pavlovian response to the number 8. The sight or sound of it makes me want to climb a tree. And believe me, I have to really want to climb a tree to actually climb a tree. So much for the bruises.

Anyway - I am back, and I have a nice wireless device which should allow me to update the blog more regularly. I've even got a Twitter account. Still figuring that out. I will share a link shortly.

Tip for the day: never gift a giraffe an iPad. The first few swipes of a hoof will irreparably score the glass, and trying to use the onscreen keyboard will open that sucker up like a gutted fish. Hmmm. Me thinks my choice of metaphor is giving a generous clue as to my current location. Oh well. I'm off to graze for dandelions in one of my favorite alleys. Later.

Giraffe in Another City

Well. Let's just say that my "friend" the monkey turned out to be an entirely untrustworthy ally who was not working on my behalf at all. Let's say that I have finally put that smelly creature and his zoo behind me. Let's also say that I have put my entire little town behind me and have immigrated upcoast to a new town. I don't want to give too much away. I'm still getting comfortable here, and learning my way around.

So - I'm still in So Cal and I'm still on the coast. My new town has a lot going for it: plenty of eateries, theaters, an art district, a really big boat, a pyramid, and a guy named Joe who makes a really nice Polish sandwich (and a totally decent pickled egg) and NO ZOO. I have my own laptop now. Well - to be honest, it's kind of borrowed from a narcoleptic zoo keeper. Hey. The guy was dragging around a 17" display with a Core i7 processor, and a Blu-ray drive - and all ever he did with it was play solitaire!! I plan on wiring him compensation, anonymously, once I get more firmly situated.

Oops. Sprinklers coming on. See what I mean? Still learning this stuff. Talk to you later.

Free Again!

Suffered a temporary setback - zoo style. But - I'm out again! Living and learning. Haven't had chance to post much. Been keeping a low profile. Eating after dark, sleeping in large shrubbery by day. Luckily I happened upon this guy with the pretzel. Within a minute of downing that thing he was out like a light. Snoring and drooling. I managed to temporarily relieve him of his laptop just long enough to check my email (only spam) and get this post in. Still looking for a more permanent method for keeping my blog updated. He's starting to stir a bit. Better get the laptop back to Mr. Drooly.

Window Was Shut

SOMEONE CLOSED THE WINDOW!!! I've been shut out of my Library "Office" for weeks. Thought my blogging days were done. But - SPRING IS IN THE AIR! I sauntered stealthly by the building tonight (like I have most nights since I was shut out), and Hazzah! The window is unlocked and open. I've got lots to update you on, but am spending my time tonight rigging this window not to lock again. Wish me luck.

Recon

Went back, incognito, just for nostalgia's sake. Place hasn't changed in the weeks I've been gone. Ate me some elephant. LOL.
